Seattle Clemency Project

Seattle Clemency Project from June Films on Vimeo.

There is NO PAROLE in the State of Washington, and Washington was the first state to pass “Three Strikes”

The Seattle Clemency Project is committed to giving second chances to individuals involved with the criminal justice system. Partnering with various pro bono lawyers in Washington, we are the only non-profit organization in Washington focusing on using Clemency as a means of helping reformed individuals we believe would make positive impacts in our community.

Here is story of a man’s journey finding light in the justice system, a devoted wife who held a candle, and the attorney who was the guiding light.

The Children’s School for Starbucks #Upstanders

Click here to support The Children’s School

Hello Friends,

We are The Children’s School in Seattle, WA. We are a 501c3 non-profit montessori-inspired preschool that has been around for 54 years, educating generations of Seattlites.

After operating for 54 years in the same home, we were asked to find a new home. We found a new spot in Green Lake, but the cost of build-out and permitting is cost-prohibitive.

As you may or may not know, the cost of living is prohibitively expensive, and over 10 preschools in the past 5 years in our neighborhood have closed. We want to continue to serve our community, support our teachers and inspire next generations of kids.

“I’ll be honest, with a computer science degree and years of experience in the start-up world, I never thought I’d have to give up my career after having a family.”

How many parents can identify with that statement, especially moms?

It just isn’t getting easier to raise children in today’s world. Childcare is often prohibitively expensive and there are few, if any, flexible drop in or part-time options. Finding safe and affordable childcare can be a significant stress on working parents.
That’s why a group of entrepreneurs, freelancers and stay-at-home parents came together over a year ago, and decided we can make the system work better.

Our founding group of more than fourteen dedicated moms (and dads) came up with a simple plan. We formed the Women’s Business Incubator as an organization to help women entrepreneurs with their businesses and families. WBI was formed as a non-profit 501(c)3 in order to help women at every level and provide more services they need all in one place.

Our focus is on these five areas we identified as problematic for women and include:
Professional office space and business services
Quality drop-in childcare services.
Leadership training circles and mentorship
Micro-loans and access to financing
Classes and workshops

Nicole + Josh • Sublime Seattle

Summers in Seattle can be quite spectacular, but some days shine brighter. The day that Josh and Nicole got married at the Olympic Sculpture Park stands out. The highlight moment of this day is when the bride walks down the aisle. Her smile radiates and you can feel the joy. Overall, it was probably one of the most gorgeous days in 2016. Maybe it was the views, or maybe it was the fabulous celebration of this couple.
